Hi, it's Alex your Wedding DJ. We have set up this blog page to give you some more information about the venue's I DJ at and share with you pictures of the evening which will give you a better feel to the room, as often when you book your wedding, you see a plain room, or if you visit the venue when they hold a Wedding Fayre its all kitted out but you never see what its like later in the evening, and this is were I wanted to share my Wedding DJ Blog with you.
I had the pleasure of being the Wedding DJ for a lovely couple in March 2013 at Ruthin Castle. Lovely settings and backdrop for your Wedding pictures, and the history behind this castle is untrue! Anyway I arrived at 6:10pm on Saturday and the speeches had just finished, this was my "q" to unload my gear anbd start setting up. I provided my usual set up, with overhead lighting, powered speakers etc. as per pictures below. In addiiton the couple wanted the mood-lighting as they have seen this on my website and it is really effective, and would recommend the mood lighting for any wedding. They chose the purple colour, which looks fantastic and so many people comment on the room when they walk back in!.
The hall I DJs in was a big enough room for 100 guests, had 7 tables (the large round ones) and the buffet table was to my right.
I kicked off the night around 7:15pm once everything was set up as I was advised guests would be coming back into the room at 7:30pm Started music with nice background music whilst guests entered the room and the additional evening guests arrived. Got a lot of people dancing early on, before I announced the cutting of the cake, followed straight after with the first dance. Managed to play another 3 songs before I was asked to announce the buffet. At 9:45pm started off the night again with requests, including build me up buttercup - a great motown classic ! and not long after the bridemaids did a speacial routine for the groom of "Gangnam Style" - The groom hated this song, but give him his due he joined in and thanked the bridesmaids. Played some classic requests such as Bon Jovi, Livin On A Prayer, Queen, American Pie, all songs which meant something to the family and friends. Played Swedish House Mafia, "Don't you worry child" (Love this song) and a good few dance and chart songs, mising these seemless together, keeping the dancefloor alive. Ended the night on Take That - Never Forget, and got the bride and groom in the middle of the circle, great ending to a perfect night!
The bride and Groom both thanked me for organising the first dance, working with the photographer "Andrew Collier" - Great photographer to work with, and Andrew even did a slide show in the evening for the guests to see the daytime pictures - looked fantastic - nothing was too much trouble for Andrew and I would recommend him, Tel. 01925 471091, I have added a link for his website and can aslo be found here: www.andrewcollierphotography.co.uk
